Patriots in Must-Win Situation

The Mount Forest Patriots gave up two early goals and couldn't complete the come-back, falling 5-3 to Stayner. The Patriots are now down 3-0 in the PJHL North Conference Final.

Trailing by two in the second, Brendon Aitken scored on the power play to put the Patriots within a point of the Siskins. Stayner scored two goals less than two minutes apart midway through the middle frame to take a 4-1 lead. Blair Butchart narrowed the gap for Mount Forest with 33 seconds left in the period.

Klayton Hoelscher scored unassisted 12 minutes into the third, putting the Patriots within a goal yet again. Ben Hughes scored for Stayner at 15:45 of the final frame.

David Lobsinger stopped 32 shots for Mount Forest. Marcus Semiao made 30 saves for the Siskins.

The Patriots face elimination when they host the Siskins tomorrow night.
