The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is in the process of consolidating all of its reports on shoreline management.
General Manager Brian Horner says over the years Baird Engineering has done several reports for them on different aspects of shoreline management like recession rates and guidelines, as well as any board considerations for shoreline protection. So what they want to do is hire Baird to bring all of that information together in one document, which will become their complete Shoreline Management Plan going forward.
“One talks about recession rates and guidelines as well as any board considerations for shoreline protection. So what we've put out there to Baird is they bring all the details and all of the information into one document, which would be our Shoreline Management Plan going forward," says Horner. “We'll only have one document that we will be referring to and it will be the Shoreline Management Plan ... we'll have all the details in it so for reference nobody will have to call to all of the different documents in the future. So we'll have everything into one.”
Horner says it would be a huge time saver for them to have all of the information in one place so that anyone looking for information won't have to look through several documents to find what they're looking for.
