Wellington North and Minto continue to enjoy building booms.
To the end of March, $7.6-million in building permits were issued in Wellington North.
This compares to the ten-year average for this period of less than half that amount, or $3.4-million.
In March alone, agricultural permits accounted for about $1-million and single-family dwellings accounted for $1.5-million.
Meanwhile, new construction in Minto is down a bit in the first quarter compared to record-breaking 2017. But the numbers are still among the best in recent years.
To the end of March, Minto issued 27 permits worth $6.7-million compared to the previous year when the same period saw $8.7-million in permits issued. The ten-year average for this period is just $2.7-million.
Single-family dwellings and agricultural permits are leading the way in Minto so far this year.
