Former Goderich Deputy Mayor Running For Mayor

Former Deputy Mayor John Grace has filed his nomination papers to run for mayor of Goderich in this fall's municipal election.

Grace says he brings seventeen years of experience on council to the table as well as a fresh perspective after four years away from council. Grace adds he's still been very involved in the community in the last four years, sitting on the board of the Goderich Port Management Corp, leading the charge for Fanshawe College, chairing a group with the Maitland Manor community focus group and getting another program with dialysis this past year.

Grace says believes the vision for Goderich in the future is all about lifestyle and that means attracting millennials as well as people from the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Grace says he'll announce a detailed platform after the provincial election is over.

“I sit on the board of the Goderich Port Management Corp, I led the charge for Fanshawe College. I chair a group with the Maitland Manor community focus group and we did another program with dialysis this year and got that up and running again," says Grace. "It's about pulling people in from the millennials to the in-migration if people coming from the Kitchener-Waterloo area. We have to create a community that draws them in.”
