Wind Causing Power Outages

Updated 6:50pm.

More than 30,000 Hydro One customers across Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Wellington counties have experienced power outages because of high winds that are blowing through the region.

It could be as late as 11:30pm on Friday before power is restored.

As of 6:50pm, scattered clusters of outages remained through Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Wellington counties including over 6,000 customers without power in and around the Kincardine area.

Police also tweeting about road closures. London Rd. between Belfast Rd. and Wingham closed just before 6:30pm because of downed power lines. And Wellington County OPP warning drivers to be aware of debris on the roads due to high winds including downed power lines.
