Chief Of Wingham Police Service To Retire

Wingham's Police Chief will hang up his holster in 2019.

Tim Poole confirms he plans to retire of next year after what will be 20 years with the Wingham Police Service.

Poole says he has plans to look after his granddaughter when his daughter goes back to work in March.

The 60-year-old chief says the current battle over the future of the Wingham Police Service has been his toughest challenge, noting it is a council decision that he has no control over, and his force is ready to abide by council's ultimate decision.

Poole took time to thank the people of Wingham for their support over the years, and says people in the area make it a fantastic place to live and work.
