The idea to bring a dog park to North Perth has been floating around and has reached the ears of council.
CAO Kris Snell says the correspondence from a local resident in last night's agenda isn't the first time a dog park has come up.
"Council did actually consider a request for a dog park a couple of years ago," says Snell. "Up until now, this information was received from correspondence in tonight's agenda, but it is something that has come up from time to time, and council has dealt with it in the past."
Snell says there have been some investigations into the cost of putting in a potential dog park, and the possibility of raising some money or having the park be a community run initiative.
"I think council would certainly seek some input from people interested in putting in a dog park, whether we could raise some capital money or look after the operation. I know there's some dog parks in Ontario that are community run, and that would maybe be something we could deal with our recreation department on."
