The application by the town of Goderich for funding under the Ontario Community Investment Fund for the Warren Street extension has been turned down again.
CAO Larry McCabe believes the best bet for the town is to find something that might be more health and safety oriented as a project.
McCabe says he doesn't think the Warren St. extension scores as high under the health and safety and asset management plan criteria, so it's not getting selected.
McCabe says staff will come back to council with a recommendation for other projects that might meet the criteria that the Ministry has for a top-up component of the Ontario Community Investment Fund.
McCabe adds, "staff will be meeting and making a recommendation to council with regards to other possible projects which would appeal more to the criteria that the Ministry has and receive higher scoring when they have that top-up component of the Ontario Community Investment Fund."
