North Huron has its first candidate for Reeve in the 2018 municipal election.
Former Wingham Ward Councillor Bernie Bailey has filed his nomination papers to lead the municipality for the next four years.
Bailey also ran for Reeve in 2014, losing to Neil Vincent by 129 votes.
Since the loss, Bailey says "I have watched every council meeting on YouTube, it is a standstill council. If you're going to lead, you lead from in front. You do not lead from behind, and if you watch YouTube, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about".

Bailey has lived in Wingham all his life. He says his experience sitting on the board of directors for four companies will give him the experience to "run [North Huron] as a company, not a playground".
Municipal elections in Ontario take place on October 22.
