Bruce Peninsula OPP Busy On Canada Day Weekend

Bruce Peninsula OPP responded to over 200 calls for service over this past Canada Day weekend, with 94 calls received on July 1.

Over the weekend Bruce Peninsula OPP received 42 traffic complainants including speeding, unsafe passing, and distracted driving. Three drivers were charged for stunt driving, more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. Their driver's licences were suspended for seven days and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.

On Saturday and Sunday, police received three reports of missing children at Sauble Beach. With the help of members from the public, the three children were all located a short time after going missing and were reunited with their parents.
