Floating Tire Mystery Near Fergus

We have all heard the phrase "pennies from heaven", this time it's a tire.

Police were called to a home on June 29 at around 8am on Wellington Rd. 29 near Wellington Rd. 22, southeast of Fergus.

The resident told police they heard an aircraft flying overhead just before there was a large splash in a nearby pond.

The resident then found a single tire floating in the pond.

Police called the Guelph Airport and Canada's Civil Air Navigation Services but could not identify any planes to have reported losing a tire or anything that might be related.

But police are still pumping some air into the investigation to find out where the tire came from.
