The Town of Saugeen Shores, along with consultants, has started to form a basis for a Transportation Master Plan.
The project includes a study of the existing transportation and road network, to identify potential improvements to meet future needs.
The first opportunity for public input will be informal sessions this week. The first one is Thursday night at Cruiser’s Night in Southampton from 6pm-9pm.
There's a second consultation session Friday at Port Elgin Main Beach from 11am-2pm.
These "pop-up conversations" encourage residents to point out areas of concern and provide suggestions for the plan. Future opportunities for public engagement will include meetings with stakeholder groups and online surveys.
"This plan will help Saugeen Shores meet the needs of all stakeholders including residents and visitors, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians," says Mayor Mike Smith. "Public participation is an essential component of this project. It is a chance for us to identify concerns and opportunities as our community continues to thrive and grow."
