Owen Sound police have a man in custody after an unsuccessful attempt was made to sell stolen property at a used goods store.

A 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon in the downtown core.

Earlier in the day, police responded to a theft which occurred overnight, where several Makita battery and power tools were stolen from a vehicle that was parked unlocked in the 900 block of 6th Avenue East.

The suspect attempted to pawn stolen property for cash when police were alerted. The tools were not located, but stolen property from another theft was recovered.
