A Wind Warning has been posted for a large part of our region.
The Warning covers all of Bruce and Huron counties.
The brisk southerly wind is expected to get even stronger through the afternoon, and shift slightly. Southwest gusts of up to 80 km/h are possible.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. There is a risk of power outages if tree branches come down across hydro lines.
Perth, Wellington and Grey counties are under a Special Weather Statement, which refers to wind gusts of 40 to 60 km/h.
The strong winds are expected to gradually weaken tonight.
