A young woman from Saugeen First Nation Territory faces criminal charges following an overnight occurrence.
OPP officers were called to a residence along Highway 21 at Saugeen First Nation Thursday evening to investigate a report of a woman with a knife.
A female suspect was not at that residence when police arrived, but they located her a short time later at a home on Kewageshig Street. She refused to leave the residence.
The OPP Emergency Response Team contained the scene while other local officers obtained a warrant to enter the residence.
Shortly after 6 a.m. Friday, members of the Tactics and Rescue Unit entered the home and arrested the woman without incident.
A 25-year-old woman from Saugeen First Nation Territory is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and failing to comply with recognizance.
She is being held for a bail hearing in Walkerton court.
