Huron Chamber gives thumbs up to Ontario's economic direction

The operations manager for the Chamber of Commerce for Goderich, North Huron and Central Huron says the Chamber is pleased with the province's Fall Economic Statement.

Mark Woodward said in the past too many decisions have been made with little or no regard for the consequences, so the Chamber is pleased that there will be more research regarding future decisions.

He added it's critical that small businesses are consulted about decisions that will impact the economy.

According to Woodward, "Small business is the engine of the economy, particularly here in Huron County. We have so many entrepreneurs, we have so many great ideas out there. If they can truly do this, it is going to be huge for Huron County."

The Chamber is also advocating for the expansion of broadband for rural communities and reducing energy costs for industry.  Woodward said both of those would be a significant boost for small business in Huron County.
