The Huron Perth Catholic District School Board has elected the chair and vice chair.
Huron East, Perth East, and North Perth Trustee Amy Cronin returns to the chair for a second time. She has been a trustee since 2011.
The farmer and mother of six is an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Wingham.
Jim McDade was elected to the position of vice-chair. The retired teacher, principal and coordinator with the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board, represents the areas of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, North Huron, Howick, Central Huron, Morris-Turnberry and Goderich.
McDade has been on the board since 2007 and this is his third term as vice-chair.
“As a mother of six children, I hold dearly the role of the Catholic school system and all that it offers our students. As I begin my ninth year as a trustee I am humbled and honoured to be chosen to represent the trustees as chair of the board," said Cronin. "The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board works to develop the whole person, body, mind and soul, something that I cherish as a trustee and parent. Over the next year, we will continue to focus on high-quality education that prepares our students for their future, no matter what path they choose, while continuing to forge a life-long relationship with Christ.”
