International bomb threat string affects local communities

Perth East CAO Glenn Schwindinger confirms the Perth East Recreational Complex in Milverton was put into lockdown Thursday afternoon after a bomb threat was received via email.

He said the email prompted the complex to immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police to report the threat, while conducted a review of the building and it has now been cleared.

There was another threat near Vanastra that Huron County OPP have said was cleared by responding units.

Both threats were described as similar to threats received across the United States and other parts of Canada in which government buildings, media outlets and businesses have also received a plethora of threats.

The OPP continues to monitor the situation here in Ontario. In the U.S., the FBI says they are aware of the threats.
