Police confirm identity of deceased male found in submerged vehicle

West Grey OPP have confirmed the identity of a deceased male who was discovered in a submerged vehicle today in the South Saugeen River.

Today at 11:15 am, West Grey Police alongside the Durham and Ayton Fire Department, the OPP dive team and air unit, and the Hanover Water Rescue team successfully located a grey 2006 Pontiac Torrent with license plate CFCM308 in the South Saugeen River. The vehicle remains submerged and will be removed when it is deemed safe.

Police confirm that the lone occupant found deceased in the vehicle is 24-year-old Gregory Steven Glenn McTavish of Wingham. West Grey Police wish to speak to anyone familiar with the vehicle involved, which is registered to a Wingham address. If anyone has information that could help this investigation, please call WestGrey Police or Crime Stoppers.
