Andrew Perrott scored the game winner with just over five minutes left in the second period and Owen Sound held on to beat Kitchener 4-3.
The Attack were playing without former captain Nick Suzuki, and veterans Zachary Roberts and Sean Durzi. The club announced yesterday morning the three had been traded to Guelph for Mark Woolley, Barret Kirwin and Zach Poirier and a number of draft picks.
Woolley and Kirwin skated for the Attack last night with Woolley earning two assists in the win.
Attack netminder Mack Guzda earned first star honours with a 35 save performance. The Rangers pulled Lucas Pfeil from net after he allowed three goals on nine shots in the first period. Luke Richardson stopped 11 of 12 shots in relief.
The Rangers were led by Jonathan Yantsis with a pair of goals. Greg Meireles had two assists in the loss.
