Periods of steady snow are expected to develop this afternoon and persist into tonight across most of Midwestern Ontario.
Some areas may see snowfall totals near 15 centimetres by Tuesday morning, although higher amounts are possible closer to Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay. A snowfall warning has been posted for the region.
This will have a significant impact on driving conditions tonight and Tuesday morning. Highways, secondary roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Visibility will be reduced for drivers. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
The longer range forecast for the "snowbelt areas" of Midwestern Ontario includes more snow, and off-lake snow squalls through Tuesday, Tuesday night, and Wednesday. Further accumulation of 10-15 centimetres is possible in some areas by Wednesday.
