Huron County students asked to submit business ideas

The Huron Economic Development Department is looking for young entrepreneurs.

Communications and Marketing Officer Katie Marshall explains they are asking students in grades four to eight to submit business ideas for the "Be Your Own Boss: Change the World" competition.

The students are asked to meet for a Genius Hour on March 2nd to work with advisers at the Huron County Economic Development to flesh out their ideas.

From that group, 10 finalists will be invited to the Livery Theatre in Goderich on March 21 to make their one-minute live presentation to an audience of local leaders, entrepreneurs and community members.

Marshall said besides the prize of $500, the students will get an opportunity to work with the team of small business coaches to point them in the right direction and show them where they can take their idea and help it grow.

Huron County entrepreneurs from Grades 4 to 8 can email their ideas to economicdevelopment@Huron County.ca and they will send them information on how to apply.
