Visibility is the biggest problem for drivers in our region this morning. A strong westerly wind is triggering blowing snow across roadways, reducing visibility at times.
Plows and other snow-moving equipment are quite busy this morning.
Major routes are track-bare, snow packed and slushy in places. Secondary roads are snow-covered, with drifted sections.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, make sure headlights are on and tail lights and windows are clear of snow.
Narrow bands of snow squalls off the lake are expected to continue through the day, with a much colder northwest wind developing.
Areas in those squalls could get another 5-10 centimetres today, and a further 5-10 centimetres Tuesday night.
The entire area is under a snow squall warning on Tuesday, and there's a blowing snow advisory for Perth, Huron, and northern Wellington counties. Stormy conditions are likely to persist into Tuesday night and Wednesday.
