Maitland Conservation has issued a flood warning for the mouth of the Nine Mile River in Port Albert.
Ice at the mouth of the river is currently causing flooding in the Apple Lane area.
A flood warning is also in place for the community of Saltford. Flooding is occurring upstream of the Hwy. 21 bridge due to a buildup of ice. Reports suggest the ice jam extends 3 km upstream of the bridge.
Ice accumulation is unpredictable and it is difficult to predict how long these situations will persist. River levels may rise and fall quickly due to the ice.
Residents in the area are reminded not to attempt to drive or walk through flooded areas.
The warning is in effect until 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
