It's a very icy day across Midwestern Ontario.
A freezing rain warning and a winter weather travel advisory are currently in effect for the area.
Ice pellets and freezing rain will continue through the afternoon, and possibly Wednesday night.
Highways, secondary roads, sideways and parking lots are very icy. Drivers are reminded to adjust to the changing road conditions and be extra cautious when stopping at slippery intersections.
Icy road conditions resulted in almost all school buses being cancelled this morning across all five counties Huron, Perth, Wellington, Bruce and Grey. All schools in the Avon Maitland, Huron-Perth Catholic, and Upper Grand District School boards closed on Wednesday.
Freezing drizzle through the afternoon increases the risk of power interruptions, because of ice build-up on tree branches which could bring down power lines.
