Residents of the village of Holstein will be able to walk across town this summer, but not drive.
Grey County is planning to rebuild the bridge connecting the two sides of the community.
Southgate Mayor John Woodbury says the County considered doing the bridge in stages so that one lane could stay open, but it was too expensive.
Drivers will have to use Highway 6 or Southgate Road 41 to get around the construction. Those on foot will be able to use the former railway bridge to bypass the construction.
Construction is expected to begin after July 1st to avoid conflicts with community events. The bridge will be out for several months.
