The theft of a wallet from an elderly woman in Fergus has become a significant OPP investigation.
Police say three suspects distracted an 82-year-old woman in a parking lot in Fergus on February 21, and stole her wallet.
The suspects had watched the woman enter her secret pin number during a credit purchase. They distracted her by implying that she had a flat tire, and when she returned to her car from taking her cart back, her wallet was gone. She reported the theft to police.
Her financial institution has contacted her to advise her that someone withdrew about $15,000 from her accounts.
The OPP have obtained video surveillance of the three suspects and are asking for help from the public to identify them.
