A well known local business leader is the guest speaker the annual general meeting of the Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce.
Chapman's Ice Cream Vice-President Ashley Chapman will talk about the crisis his company, employees and residents faced with the prospect of losing their local school in Markdale.
Chapman's presentation will focus on the private and public sector partnerships and how they can address challenges in a rural economy.
The province announced over $7 million to fund a new school after the community successfully worked together to find solutions to an operational deficit and capital upkeep costs.
Thursday night's meeting is at the Quality Inn on 6th Street East at 5 p.m.
