North Huron Council is in the works of developing their own committee to settle the future of the Howson Dam, and have finalized Terms of Reference.
Rennie Alexander is the Chairman of the Howson Pond and Dam Citizens' Committee and he says "Initially I think we thought that they were going to amalgamate our committee with this committee, but it's two separate committees".
Alexander says that with the amount of public support he has encountered over the issue, he is certain that those selected to be on the council committee will reflect the views of the citizens' committee.
Alexander adds that he and the five members of the citizens' committee will have to apply to sit on the committee, but theoretically none could end up being chosen.
"Our whole committee has to apply to be on the committee --on town council committee. Theoretically we might not even be on that committee.”
Coun. Kevin Falconer has asked to be the Chair of the committee. Coun. Chris Palmer and Reeve Bernie Bailey may sit on the committee.
