Siskins make a statement in Game 1 of Sutherland Cup final

The Waterloo Siskins opened the GOJHL Sutherland Cup final with a decisive 9-4 win over London.

Owen Lane led the charge with a hat trick and three assists. Sam Cherry scored twice and set up three for the Siskins and Alex Lycett had a pair of goals in the win.

The Nationals were led by Noah Tooke with two goals and an assist.

Matt Onuska earned the win with 37 saves.

Waterloo chased starter Zachary Spinger from net after he allowed four goals on 18 shots over 34 minutes of work. Jukka Schotter stopped 18 of the 21 shots he faced.

Game 2 is Sunday in London.
