A local Perth County driver was lucky to not be seriously injured after his pick-up truck was involved in a crash with a train.
On April 22 at 3:30 pm, Perth County OPP along with Perth County Paramedic Services and West Perth Fire Department responded to the collision on Road 160 east of Mitchell.
It was discovered that the pick-up truck was travelling south on Road 160 when the driver failed to stop for an eastbound train at a railway crossing.
The driver, a 65-year-old West Perth man, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, and has since been charged with disobeying a railway crossing signal.
The OPP are reminding all motorists to obey all railway signs and warning devices.
