Bullet found in Grey County home five years after gunshot reported

A Georgian Bluffs family found a bullet lodged in a book on a shelf in their home, almost five years after something penetrated the wall and passed through three rooms on the upper floor.

OPP officers were called to a home on Carney Street in June of 2014 after what was believed to be a projectile from a small-calibre high-velocity firearm struck the residence.

The bullet was finally discovered earlier this week. Police seized the item for examination by the Mount Forest OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit.

On June 16, 2014, the homeowners heard a loud "popping" sound. A short time later they discovered debris of wood splinters in the master bedroom. After further examination of the residence, they located what appeared to be a bullet hole through the 2nd story exterior frame siding of their home.

Two adults and a child were in the home at the time, but fortunately, no one was hurt.
