$10K donation to Huron Shores Hospice

The fundraising effort for the Huron Shores Hospice has received a boost.

The Society of United Professionals, Bruce Power Local Community Foundations Fund has donated an additional $10,000. That money will support the Hospice and its end-of-life care for residents of southern Bruce County.

A cheque presentation will take place this Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. It will kick off the third annual Hike for Hospice.

The hike will be through the trails next to the Davidson Centre, on the outdoor track, or in the event of rain, on the centre’s indoor track.

"Last year we contributed $10,000 to the Phase II fundraising efforts to bring a second bed and we are pleased that these efforts are moving closer to completion," said Eric Tiisler from the society.

Carol Rencheck, co-chair of Huron Shores Hospice Board of Directors added, "Their $5,000 donation to Hike for Hospice and $5,000 donation to Handbags for Hospice will help ensure successful events and show their commitment to helping us provide this valuable service to our community."
