BGCDSB director of education accepts Toronto position

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board is losing its current director of education.

Jamie McKinnon has accepted the position of principal of St. Michael’s College School in Toronto.

St. Michael’s is a private Basilian Catholic School that's been a fixture in Catholic education since it opened in 1852.

McKinnon has been with the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School board for the past four years and has lead the board through a period of growth and innovative programming.

"It is with very mixed emotions that I move on from one of the most nimble, innovative and compassionate school systems in the province," said McKinnon. "From my very first visit here, I experienced nothing but welcoming communities who care for the well being of their people and have high expectations for the future and for the success of each and every student."

His tenure with the board will end July 31.

The board will begin a search for its next director of education immediately.
