(BlackburnNews.com file photo)About a dozen cows perished after a dairy barn caught fire in Mapleton Township.
Fire crews were called around 5 p.m. on Monday and found a barn near the village of Moorefield was engulfed in flames.
Police said about 50 of the cattle were saved from the burning barn on Concession 6 south of Moorefield.
There were no injuries and the fire is not considered suspicious.
There are no estimates to damage values at this time, however, the building was a complete loss.
