New home for Owen Sound hunger program

The Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort, or OSHaRE,  is moving to a new location in September.

The move is aimed at improving services and increase the storage of fresh produce and perishable items.

OSHaRE has been operating out of the Harmony Centre for six years and has served over 100,000 meals in that time.

In 2017, operational review in partnership with the Grey Bruce Health Unit identified a number of improvements and new initiatives to better serve the people who depend on the program.

The new location will be 946 3rd Ave. E in downtown Owen Sound. In this location, OSHaRE will have industrial-grade cooking equipment, with a walk-in cooler and freezer

We will also have space to develop additional services and partnerships with other community organizations.

OSHaRE serves hot, nutritious meals Monday – Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and offers lunch to go programs on Saturdays & Stat Holidays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
