Electrical issue blamed for fire that destroyed home on Highway 4

A fire that destroyed a home near Hensall last weekend is being deemed an electrical fire.

Central Huron Fire Chief Dave Renner said the investigators concluded that an electrical short caused the blaze to initially ignite, and the fire destroyed the home on Highway 4.

The lone male tenant of the building got out safely and was taken to local hospital for observation as a precaution. Unfortunately, the man's three dogs perished in the blaze.

There is no current update on the total damages, and the Ontario Fire Marshall's Office is not conducting an investigation into the fire.

A GoFundMe for the homeowner can be found by clicking here.
