UPDATE: Crashes throughout the region keeping police and emergency crews busy

OPP officers are busy at a number of collisions Tuesday afternoon.

OPP are investigating the scene of a crash on the 8th line between Noah Road and Sideroad 11 near Elora. One male had to be transported by Ornge Air Ambulance for serious but non-life threatening injuries in the two-vehicle crash between his pick-up truck and a loaded dump truck. The dump truck driver suffered minor injuries. The road is now open.

There was also a crash on Mulmur-Melancthon Townline between Highway 89 and Sideroad 5 near Shelburne, and the roadway was closed for the removal of a vehicle. It has been re-opened.

Also, the fire department of North Huron Blyth Station is responding to a collision in Central Huron. Motorists are reminded to yield for responding emergency vehicles. Local OPP have responded to the scene there as well. There is no word yet on further closures or injuries.
