Huron County OPP officers are warning the public again about the dangers of abusing opioids, particularly fentanyl, after officers saved two lives on Monday following overdoses.
The first overdose response took place just after 8 a.m. on Monday, when police received a call from an address located east of Bayfield on Wildwood Line for a 25-year-old male in medical distress. The second took place at approximately 4 p.m. when officers responded to a residence located on King Street in Hensall to assist an 18-year-old female that was in medical distress.
In both cases officers administered life-saving naloxone, at which point both patients regained consciousness and started breathing. They were both taken to local hospitals as a precaution.
