A search for a young man who may have drowned at "The Grotto" at Bruce Peninsula National Park has concluded.

Grey Bruce OPP were called around 4:15 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses say a 24-year-old man jumped into the water with a friend and initially surfaced. He went into distress immediately after and failed to resurface.

The Canadian Coast Guard, Bruce Peninsula National Park staff, OPP Marine Unit and OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit all responded to the area and closed "The Grotto". Grey Bruce OPP have now confirmed the male was found underwater on July 7 at 3:05 pm, and police also confirmed they will not be releasing the 24-year-old man's identity, only saying he was from Vaughn, Ontario.
