The Municipality of South Huron wants to hear from its young people.
Youth Engagement Strategist Vanessa Culbert said as part of their Thrive South Huron summer project they're asking young people to respond to a survey aimed at building civic engagement in their community. Culbert said they want young people to know they have a voice in the community and they're reaching to young people to find out what gaps they feel exist in South Huron.
She added if they can identify some gaps they want to have conversations with young people to see what can be done to fill them so young people live, work, and play in South Huron.
“We're trying to build civic engagement among the youth in our community. We want them to know that they have a voice in our community on decisions and we're reaching out to these youth to see what gaps they feel there are in South Huron," she said.
Culbert said what they're hearing now is young people feel they're not being heard and some are leaving town.
The survey is available on the South Huron web site until July 14.
