In the wake of a shakeup at the top levels of Bruce County, the council has now appointed Bettyanne Cobean as its new acting chief administrative officer.
Four senior Bruce County administrators have been suspended.
Sources confirm Bruce County informed employees its chief administrative officer, director of human resources and director of health services, as well as the administrator at Brucelea Haven, have been suspended from their employment with pay.
It's said to be linked to Bruce Lea Haven.
Cobean recently retired as the director of corporate services.
Bruce County Warden Mitch Twolan said he is pleased she was able to come back and oversee operations.
“Bettyanne has a wealth of municipal experience and knows Bruce County well, returning to the County after having just recently retired as the Director of Corporate Services. We are pleased she has accepted Council’s invitation to oversee the administration and day-to-day operations of the County,” said Twolan.
Cobean said she is honoured to lead the county during the transition period.
“I’ve enjoyed working for the County throughout my career and I am honoured to lead the County during this transition period,” says Cobean. “I look forward to working closely with Warden Twolan, county Council, staff and our community partners as Acting CAO. Bruce County is an amazing community and I am confident that we have a team in place to make this transition a smooth one. We will continue delivering the highest level of service to our residents, business and partners, as we continue to move forward – advancing our vision for Bruce County."
