The year is almost at a close and Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody says looking back on 2019, there's plenty to be proud of.
Peabody noted one major thing is the interest from developers in Brockton.
"We have three new subdivisions on the go, and a number of other townhouse applications that will be coming forward in January to get ready for the 2020 year, so those are already coming down the pipeline."
Mayor Peabody said they doubled their building permits for houses from last year, and also noted another great local project that was completed.
"We had projects like the Truax Dam, that was a little bit of a controversial project, people weren't really sure how it was going to work out. But right now, it looks great, the river is flowing very nicely and it's very aesthetic."
Another major win was getting the South Bruce-Grey Residential Hospice project up and running, and the mayor said that is a major point of pride when looking back on 2019.
