Local mayor looks ahead to 2020

After a successful 2019, Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody says there's plenty on the way in 2020 to be excited about.

Peabody said there's a number of local issues they need to consolidate on in the new year regarding housing.

"Such as pushing ahead housing projects. We want a mix of attainable housing, as well as some single-family homes."

On top of getting more local housing and fixing some roads, the mayor says there are a couple of big local projects to tackle.

"Making sure we get the new hospice serviced, and our business park needs to move into phase 2 and get some servicing. We plan to build a large drainage pond that will serve all the lots. It's been a little bit of an inhibitor to the growth of our business park."

Mayor Peabody said they want to ensure that there is more affordable housing options being brought into the area, and notes that there are three new subdivisions and some new townhouse applications coming in January.
