Almost ready for moving day for OPP office in Goderich

The mayor of Goderich says the OPP will soon be moving out of the police station on the Square.

John Grace said the model for policing in the region has changed and the regional police station will now be located in Clinton as part of the new model being introduced in Huron County.

Grace said it doesn't mean the police will change the number of people they have in Goderich.

“The police station now will be located in Clinton, to there's a whole new model being introduced to our area. It doesn't mean that the police will change the number of people that they have in Goderich, it's just that they'll be dispatched from the Clinton office,” said Grace.

He added they may look at establishing a smaller, kiosk type office in the future but no decisions have officially been made.
