Thefts from vehicles keep Stratford police busy

Stratford police are reminding residents to lock it or lose it, after a high number of thefts in the city over the weekend.

Stratford police received 11 reports of thefts from motor vehicles that were all unlocked.

Items stolen included cash, computers, tools, sports equipment and vehicle documents.

While on patrol in the south end Sunday morning, an officer heard a car alarm go off, and saw a man exiting the vehicle.

A 38-year-old Guelph man was arrested without incident, along with a 38-year-old Guelph woman who was with him. He faces eight charges, and she faces five.

The pair possessed a large amount of stolen property.
