Bruce Power reducing staff, enhancing cleaning practices during pandemic

Bruce Power continues to take action to protect the community, employees, and the supply of electricity.

The Bruce Power site has been reduced in population by two-thirds over the last week and these reductions will continue in response to the pandemic.

Enhanced cleaning, social distancing and personal hygiene are being enforced, while anyone returning from outside of Canada has to self-isolated for 14 days before returning to work.

The company is working to reduce the number of employees on-site while maintaining safe, reliable operations and completing essential plant maintenance and inspections.

The Major Component Replacement (MCR) Project is on schedule, however, Key MCR activities will be narrowed to essential tasks related to plant safety and system integrity.

Bruce Power is committed to maintaining the supply of Cobalt-60 for sterilization of medical equipment.
