An Owen Sound police officer managed to extinguish a dangerous apartment fire that luckily only caused minor injuries.
On March 21st at 5:45 a.m., Owen Sound Police Service, alongside local fire and EMS crews, were dispatched to 305 14th Street West after receiving a call about an apartment fire. An Owen Sound police officer was first on-scene and made it into the 4th floor apartment and managed to extinguish the fire. The officer suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated on-scene. The occupant of the apartment was taken to local hospital as a precaution.
Owen Sound Police are reminding everyone to be careful and alert when using household appliances, burning candles, or any other activity that could ignite a fire.
