A fire has completely destroyed a two-story chicken barn on Base Line Road halfway between Clinton and Auburn.
Chief Marty Bedard said the call came into North Huron at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday. Firefighters from both Wingham and Blyth stations responded, with help from the Clinton fire department.
Bedard said the barn was fully engulfed in flames when they got there and collapsed shortly after. He said the barn was completely destroyed and there's no estimate of damage at this time.
It is unknown how many chickens perished in the blaze.
Bedard said they don't know what started the fire at this time but it is not considered suspicious.
