Goderich keeping an eye on the books after passing budget

Goderich council finalized the town's budget.

While this year's budget was approved at a zero per cent increase, Mayor John Grace said they'll watch things very closely over the next few months to see how significant of an impact the COVID-19 has.  He added they may have to make some adjustments.

"We're quite prepared for that and we know everybody's gotta give in order for this to work. And we are going to be upfront about and the public will know as we move forward, it will impact all of us," said Grace.

Grace said if they have to take some money out of reserves to soften the blow, they're fully prepared to do that. He said Goderich realizes everyone is going to have to make some sacrifices to get the town through this.
